Sterlin M. Holt Sr. opened the DeLuxe Barbershop in 1946. This business was listed in The Negro Motorist Green Book from 1950-1952. Holt’s successor, Derrick Green, shares his memories of Mr. Holt, lessons he learned from his mentor, and stories passed down about the history of the shop, the Holt family, and Mr. Holt’s influence within the community.
